Att. Özgür Kaya completed his secondary
education in Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School and İzmir 60. Yıl Anatolian High School
and began his law undergraduate education at Marmara University Faculty of Law in 1999.
After graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Law, he completed his master degrees in
International Commercial Law and European Union at Istanbul Ticaret University, and then PhD
program in English in Private Law at Yeditepe University Faculty of Law. He wrote his
graduation thesis on "Data Protection in the Pharmaceutical Industry"
One of the members of Istanbul Bar Association Att. Özgür Kaya,
established KAYA Law Firm in Istanbul in 2004. KAYA Law Firm started to provide legal
consultancy services to its clients in three continents through its Istanbul and Izmir
offices in a short period, and following this short period through incorporating the Dubai
Office.
Özgür Kaya has represented Dubai South, DWC and Expo 2020, the
largest State Project of the United Arab Emirates, Dubai Emirate. Now, Kaya still carries
out his responsibilities and liabilities as an independent board member in leading domestic
and foreign companies of their sectors in the fields of construction, industry,
transportation and investment.
Since 2005, he has been acting as trademark and patent attorney.
Att. Özgür Kaya also provides legal consultancy services to his clients in trademark
application processes before WIPO and USPTO owing to his proficiency in English.
Kaya, whose books "Competition Law Practices" and "Block Exemption
Communique in the Motor Vehicles Sector" were published, also attended many seminars on
Competition Law and Intellectual Property Law as a speaker.
Att. Özgür KAYA is also a congress member of Fenerbahçe Sports Club and a member of Istanbul
Rotary Club.
